South Essex Poultry Auctions has been set up by a group of like minded individuals who all enjoy one thing in common - chickens!
Poultry auctions in this part of Essex are not very common and we hope that newcomers to the hobby, back yard keepers and established breeders will find our auctions a great place to meet with the added advantage of being able to sell your surplus stock and also purchase new stock.
We'll welcome more or less anything to do with poultry at our auctions; those spare feeders or drinkers you no longer have a use for, that coop that's now too small and don't forget the hatching eggs.
Click on the links above to view the dates of our Auctions for 2012, venue details, Auction Rules, and links you may find useful.
Please email: sepoultryauctions@gmail.com with a list of your proposed Auction entries.
We look forward to seeing you at one of our Auctions!

5 June 2011
The Auction Committee would like to thank all those who came along on Sunday 5 June for our second auction. We had an increase on the number of lots for sale, with plenty of room for more (maybe the September one!).
Our lots this time included an incubator, feeder and drinker, Practical Poultry magazines, Smallholder magazines and of course plenty of chickens of many varieties and hatching eggs, we even had goose eggs!
Marie and the catering team tried a few different food options this time and we hope you enjoyed what was on offer.
Thanks go to Sam's Poultry for coming along and setting up "shop". We're pleased you did well and that we'll see you back with us in September. Visit Sam's Poultry website to purchase on line and for other information. http://www.samspoultry.co.uk
Don't forget our next auction is on Sunday 4 September - same time and place!
Again, if you have any comments or suggestions please use the "Contact Us" form on this site.
See you all again in a few months!
10 April 2011
Our first auction was on 10 April. We had around 127 lots, most of which sold. It was a very good turn out with around 160 people through the door. Our auctioneers, Peter and Gary, did a very good job considering it was the first time either of them had done this type of thing!
Marie and her crew in the kitchen kept everyone fed and watered. Hope you all enjoyed the bacon rolls and cakes?!
We had a good selection of birds in the auction and plenty of hatching eggs. The highest bid of the day was for a box of young Polands. Other entries included goose eggs, quails, guinea fowl, some fairly loud cockerels and some Penedesencas which is a Spanish breed I'd heard of but never actually seen.
We'd like to say thank you to all who came long and we hope you enjoyed the experience and will come along to the next auction on 5 June. If you have any suggestions or comments for us please use the "Contact Us" form on this site.
